Linda June King

Our loving wife and mother, Linda, was born on February 4, 1946 to Robert Lee and Betty Marie Rone in Shawnee, OK. She attended Wilson Elementary School until the family moved to Oklahoma City. She attended Hawthorne and then Classen High School, graduating with the class of 1964. It was there that she met and eventually married her husband, John King on December 5, 1965.

John had just returned from basic training in the US Navy. She spent the next four years moving from coast to coast to be with him during his assignments from San Diego, CA to Norfolk, VA. During that period, she gave birth to their son, JJ, on December 9, 1968. Their daughter, Amy, was born on June 15, 1972.

Over the years she had a long association working for Farm Bureau Insurance Company. She retired from Farm Bureau in 2015.

Linda is survived by her husband John King, her two children, Amy King, JJ King, and her daughter-in-law Tina Ruminer King, sisters, Kelly (Rob) Branson and Kimberly (Travis) Baker, and her very beloved cousin, Mike Rone.

Linda passed away very peacefully in Shawnee on August 16, 2024 at 12:30 am, with her daughter Amy by her side. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, August 22nd from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm with family present to greet friends from 5-7 pm. She will be eulogized at St. Benedict Church in Shawnee on August 23, 2024 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Casketbearers will be: Derek Williams, Derek Holland, Matthew Martin, Jason Palmer, Dirk Henry, and Chris Clifton.
