Shawnee native, Lynnette Gail Medley, died Thursday, September 16, 2021, at her residence in Moore, OK at the age of 70.
She was born Lynette Gail Loftis on June 26, 1951 in Shawnee to her parents, Donald and Mary Loftis. As the firstborn child, she grew up as a big sister to her two brothers, Rodney and Randy. Later in life, Lynn became mother to her three children, John, Joe and Jayme.
Spending most of her life in Shawnee, she graduated from Shawnee High School and later completed her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma. Lynn spent her professional career wearing many hats, from assistant manager at the Shawnee Trophy Company to advertising at the Shawnee News-Star. She was a member of the Shawnee Optimist Club and spent hours volunteering at different Shawnee events, as she loved her hometown.
Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in law, John and Ami Medley of Shawnee and Joseph and Amy Medley of Edmond; her daughter and son-in law, Jayme and Travis Doussette of Moore; six grandchildren, Jamiee Medley, Jaidyn Medley, Drew Doussette, Aura Medley, Macy Doussette, and Dylan Medley; two brothers, Rodney and Randy Loftis, both of Shawnee; and the many loving friends that Lynn considered her extended family.
A memorial ceremony will be held at the Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 24th. Following the ceremony, Lynn will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park.
