Margaret Elizabeth (Abbott) Mooney passed away suddenly, yet peacefully in her home on May 13th in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 90. Margaret was born in Trousdale, Oklahoma on April 2nd 1927 to Otis J. and Freda O. (Limke) Abbott. She was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church, loved gardening, watching baseball, and her extensive family. Her hands were always busy, leaving behind miles of cherished gifts of crochet and needlework for her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Mooney, both parents, and brothers Arlin, Burnis and Wilfred Abbott. She is survived by her sons Gary Rogers (Cathey) and Keith Rogers, granddaughters Shannon (Chris) Lott and Megan (Travis) Sprague, grandsons Mason, Jon, and Bradley Rogers, and great-grandchildren Juliana, Johnathan and William. Also survived by sisters Agnes Synar and Marcella Meiser, as well as many nieces and nephews. A rosary will be held 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, at Walker Funeral Chapel. A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18 in El Reno Cemetery, by Pat’s side. Walker Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
