Mary Lou Benton, 77, of Edmond, Oklahoma, died Sunday, October 6, 2019 at her home.

Funeral Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 11, 2019 at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Schwarz officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

She was born in Escanaba, Michigan on May 16, 1942, to Darwood and Dorothy Anderson.  She graduated from Escanaba High School and attended Marquette University.  She married Bob Benton on Aug 27, 1983.  She owned several successful businesses during her life, including an insurance agency, a tanning salon, and an art studio.  She was a fiber artist and belonged to the Edmond Quilt Guild and the Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild.  Her work was displayed at various shows and she received several awards for her artistry.

Her husband and parents preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters; Dena Gast and husband Richard of Yucca Valley, California, Dyan Johnson of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Brigette Benton of Edmond Oklahoma; son Brett Benton and wife Staci of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandsons Robert Gast and Barrett Benton; granddaughter Bailey Benton; great-granddaughter Zoey Gast; brother Thomas Anderson of Escanaba Michigan; sisters Barbara Kossow of Rapid River Michigan, and Shirley Johnson of Escanaba, Michigan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
