Mary Margaret Wasson

Mary Margaret Miller Wasson, 80, of Shawnee, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018.Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel.Mary was born May 5, 1938 in Tucumcari, New Mexico to Jack & Margaret (Wells) Miller. She was a graduate of Central High School in Oklahoma City, and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Seminole Junior College. She worked as a Registered Nurse in ICU at Shawnee Medical Center, was a Home Health nurse, and was the campus nurse at OBU for 11 years where she retired in 2002. She met Doyle Wasson at a dance at Mercy Hospital where she was a nursing student, and had him at “Hi!”, and they were soon married: on May 5, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Mary was a Bluebird and Campfire Girls Leader, a member of Beta Sigma Phi, and was active in the Republican Party. She enjoyed traveling, taking Alaskan & Caribbean Cruises, and going to Hot Springs to the Oaklawn Race Track. She was known for her Green Thumb and her loving heart.
