Shawnee resident Max Mitchel Burchette, 80, died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 in Shawnee. The family will be at Walker Funeral Service on Thursday from 6pm to 8pm to receive friends. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Meeker Assembly of God with Jimmy Broadbent officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. He was born September 2, 1936 in Meeker, Oklahoma to Oscar and Mary Ellen (Wilkins) Burchette. He graduated from Prague High School. On December 20, 1957 he married Della (Ashcraft). He then served 7 years in the United States Army. Max worked 42 years for Macklenburg-Duncan as a set-up man. He then worked over 10 years for Overton & Sons as a parts runner. He enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing, and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson: Hunter Lane Quary, 2 sisters: Lavada Lambert and Barbara Ann Buoy, 4 brothers: Joseph Forest Burchette, Jack Ewing Burchette, Oscar Ray Burchette, and Brian Allen Burchette. He is survived by his Wife: Della Burchette of the home; 3 Children: Linda Seeley and husband Joe of Bethel Acres, Susan Broadbent and husband Jim of Henryetta and David Burchette of Shawnee; 7 Grandchildren: Kerri, Matthew, Kaci, Kimberly, Justin, Jason, Jadrea; 9 Great-Grandchildren: Ryan, Ami, Chloe, Alyssa, Landon, Kaitlyn, Lauryn, Madelyn, Rehner; 1 Brother: Shelby Leon Burchette and wife Mae of Holdenville; 1 Sister: Carylon Davis of Meeker; and several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
