Nancy Ellen Carlton

Nancy Ellen Carlton passed away at her home in Shawnee at the age of 90 on Friday, September 6, 2024. She was born to Wiley and Ollie Fields on June 6, 1934 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. Nancy graduated from Holdenville High School in 1952 and the OKC Vocational School of Practical Nursing in 1975. She worked until retirement as an LPN at Mercy Health Center in Edmond, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters, two brothers, and her husband, Eddie along with her sons, Jon Carlton and Bruce Carlton.

Nancy is survived by her daughter, Susan and son-in-law, David McCurdy; grandchildren, Emily Parks, Sarah Parks, Cameron Blass, Katherine Carlton, and their mother Patty Wagstaff Carlton and Casey Wyatt; great-grandchildren, Sophia (daughter of Cameron and Hannah), Charlie (son of Sarah), Abby and Rylee (daughters of Casey Wyatt); and great-great-grandchildren, Fynlee and Rubee (daughters of Rylee and Chris Gannon).

A memorial ceremony will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Walker Funeral Chapel, 201 E. 45th Street, Shawnee, OK. Following the ceremony she will be laid to rest privately during a family-only graveside.

In lieu of flowers, Nancy has requested donations be made to the Salvation Army in Shawnee, 330 E. 9th Street.
