Nola Dean Spencer, 93, went to be with her Lord on February 9, 2018. She was born October 25, 1924 to John Knox Pool and Gertrude Mae (Wist) Pool in Durham, Arkansas. Later the family moved to Jenks, OK where she met and married Jack L. Spencer. During their lifetime, they traveled the 48 states in their motor home. They lived in Tulsa, OK, Fort Smith, AR, and last at Chouteau, OK. She was a volunteer at Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor, OK for many years, earning over 4000 hours. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Chouteau, OK for 49 years. She loved mission work and was a member of Baptist WMU for 56 years. She was president of WMU and also worked with G.A.’s. She was director of the Junior Sunday School department for 23 years, and was director and worked in Vacation Bible Schools many years.She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack L. Spencer, and grandson Sid Spencer, Jr., a sister Gwendolyn (Cunningham) Bowles, a nephew, Floyd Cunningham of Locust Grove, OK, and a son-in-law, Glynn Dinsmore.After the death of her husband in 2003, she moved to Pryor, OK and lived there 5 years, then moved to Shawnee, OK in 2008 to be near her family. She was a member of University Baptist Church in Shawnee, OK. She is survived by two children: a daughter, Jacklyn Dinsmore, and a son, Sid Spencer and wife, Nell. Five grandchildren, Greg Dinsmore and wife Carla, John Dinsmore, Scott Dinsmore, Kimberly Spencer, and Mark Spencer and wife, as well as 8 great-grandchildren. She was also survived by two nieces, Mary Darlene Daughtery of Warren, IN and Paulette (Spencer) Johnson of Hot Springs, AR. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor, OK with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating, under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. The family will be at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. to visit with friends and family.
