Norvil Dean McNurlen

Norvil Dean McNurlen, 89, of Shawnee, died Thursday, May 9, 2019 in Shawnee. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 14 in the chapel of Walker Funeral Service. Burial will be in Goldthwaite Cemetery, Goldthwaite, TX.

Norvil was born August 5, 1929.  He graduated high school with the class of 1948 in Dublin, TX.  On August 7, 1952 he married Evelyn Reynolds in Colorado Springs.  He retired from the United States Air Force in 1969, having served during Korea and Vietnam.  He worked as Quality Control for the assembly line for GM until his retirement in 1993.  He loved hunting, fishing and gardening.

Norvil was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Loyal Gene and sister, Odene Huron.

He is survived by his children: Terry McNurlen, Mike McNurlen and wife Rhonda, and Teresa Wright and her husband Jerry; as well as three grandchildren and other family members and friends.
