Ona Dean Atkinson

Ona Dean Atkinson, 82 of Shawnee, died Sunday, August 12, 2018 at her residence.Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 15 at Sharon Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Dawkins officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. to visit with friends and family.Ona was born May 1, 1936 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jim & Mary Lee (Hixson) Rogers. She was a 1954 graduate of Shawnee High School, and on January 26, 1957 she married Raymond Atkinson in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church for over 50 years, where she was involved in VBS, Sunday School and Women’s Intercessory Prayer Group. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles and watching John Wayne movies.Ona was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 2 nephews and 1 niece.She is survived by her husband, Raymond Atkinson of the home2 Daughters & Sons-in-Law:Jana & Tim Zalenski and Renee Dawn & Larry Boyd1 Son & Daughter-in-Law: Dennis Ray & Sherrie Atkinson4 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren
