Peggy Jean Ford

Peggy Jean (Bryan) Ford, beloved mother, grandmother, and GiGi, 89, of Shawnee, OK, passed away at home on August 28, 2024, leaving a lasting legacy of devotion to her family and her community.

She was born in Lone Wolf, OK in 1934 to Margaret and Cecil Bryan. Peggy was a pioneer businesswoman, buying her first insurance agency in 1963 and renaming it Ford Insurance Agency in Granite, OK. After running that location for 20+ years, she opened her second location in 1984 in Shawnee, OK.

Peggy was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a true provider who made sure her family was taken care of and supported in every way possible. She was always present to cheer on her family and encourage them as they pursued their dreams.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Cecil Bryan, and her son Johnny Ford. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Wesley and husband Randy; daughter-in-law, Charlotte Barnett and husband Gary; granddaughters, Bridget Sudderth and husband Brad, and Shelby Wesley; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kayte Sudderth, and Hartley Higgins; brother, Larry Bryan and wife Diana; and sister, Sharon Keating and husband Robert. Her family and friends will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

Celebration of Life is Saturday, October 5, 2024 at 10:30 am at the Walker Funeral Chapel, 201 E. 45th St., Shawnee, OK 74804.
