On July 25, 1958, she was united in marriage with the love of her life, Howard Lee Rooker, and together they shared sixty-four years of love and memories.
Peggy lived an active life and loved her church and her life as a farm wife, mother, and grandmother. Peggy enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, loved flower and vegetable gardening, square dancing, and had a heart for service for her church, McLoud First United Methodist. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband as they saw the beauty of God’s creation and made many new friends as they wintered in South Texas.
Peggy passed on a legacy of faith to her family which includes her husband, Howard Lee Rooker, of the home in McLoud, OK; her son Jeff Rooker (Jan) of Little Rock, AR; her daughter, Kim Rooker Lambeth (Clint) of King City, MO, her grandsons, Greg Lambeth of Lebanon, MO; Matt Lambeth (Kaedyn) of McAlester, OK; and granddaughter Olivia Rooker Welhoff (Cole) of Overland Park, KS. She is also survived by her sister Romona Copeland, Oklahoma City, OK; her brother Rick Burden (Gypsie) of Prairie Grove, AR; numerous nieces and nephews; and her church family and friends.
Those preceding her in death include her parents, Dorothy and Alva Burden.
Peggy’s favorite verse is Psalms 23:6 “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
