Philip Don Mosier was born June 8, 1958, in Shawnee, Okla., to Patton and Valdora Winkler Mosier. He passed from this life October 12, 2022, at the age of 64. Philip graduated from Dale High School in 1976 and received his certification in drafting at Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech the same year. He met the love of his life, Luanne Reeves, cruising the ‘Poo, and they were married March 12, 1977. The pair had two daughters, Christina Rene’ and Amanda Marie, and settled north of Shawnee on his family’s land – the same property he grew up on. Philip went to work for United Foam until 1979, and then was on the startup crew at Mobil Chemical, which later became ExxonMobil and Jindal. He retired from the company in 2016. After retirement, he enjoyed working on their homestead raising cattle and chickens in addition to gardening. Some would argue he stayed busier than before retirement working on projects for friends and family. He was truly a “jack of all trades.” Philip was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. He was very talented at woodworking, forging, painting, playing guitar, working on cars, painting cars, among many other things. He could always be counted on to be there whenever family and friends needed anything. Philip loved spending time with and watching his grandkids in their activities, whether it was a band concert, marching event or baseball game. He will be greatly missed. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Patton and Valdora; brother, Howard Mosier; nephew, Jeffrey Mosier; and father-in-law, James Reeves. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 45 years, Luanne Reeves Mosier; two daughters, Christina Collins and husband Brad of Shawnee, and Amanda Brackeen and husband Craig of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Kayana Rhoton-Brackeen, Emma Collins, Lilian Brackeen, Andrew Collins and Molly Brackeen; two brothers, Hugh Mosier and wife Carol of McLoud, and Doyle Mosier of Martindale, Texas; two sisters, Patricia Mosier of Salem, Ore., and Darla Earnhart of Shawnee; mother-in-law, Joan Reeves of Shawnee; brother-in-law, Larry Reeves of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Lyn Mosier of Shawnee; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and work family.
