Ralph Doyle Roberts, 72, of Atoka, OK, died Saturday, August 19, 2017 in Okla. City, OK.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Bro. Bobby Roe officiating. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery in Lane, OK @ 3:00 p.m. Doyle was born November 17, 1944 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Ralph & Lettie Roberts. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, and attended East Central University. On November 1, 1966 he married Shirley Ruth Stewart in the home of her parents in Atoka, OK. Ralph was drafted into the US Army on March 1, 1966. He served in Vietnam from 1966-1967, from there he left the military in 1967 as a Sergeant E5.He owned and operated Doyle’s Plumbing, Heating and Air from 1974-1979. He worked various oilfield jobs from then until 1989 at which time he worked for Lewis A. Hembree Production and did so until right before he passed away. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Lettie Roberts, and nephew: Dale Scarborough Survived by Wife: Shirley Ruth Roberts; Daughter & Son-in-Law: Don & Janelle Gatz of Meeker; Son & Daughter-in-Law: John & Stacey Roberts of Shawnee; Grandchildren & Spouses: Jeremy & Chestney Smith, Allen & Candace Gatz, Troy & Katie Gatz, Marshal Gatz & Jalynn Lucy; Great-Grandchildren: Gracelynn Rose Smith, Brin’lee Nichole Gatz, Baylee Alyn Gatz, Haiden Eleise Gatz, Carter Troy Gatz, and Great-Grandchild #6 on the way; Sisters: Shirley Bobo of Hurst TX, and Kathyrn Scarbrough of Jenks, OK; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends, and one lonesome dog, Shena.
