Ramona Faye Jarrard Wooldridge, age 84 of Oklahoma City, OK died o3/22/2023. She was born in Webbers Falls, OK on November 14, 1938, to the late Deloy and Ova Edna “Sal” Stephens Jarrard. She was the first of two daughters. Faye graduated from Sallisaw High School in 1957, where she was active in many activities, including basketball. She worked in the professional and business field for a few years before attending college and graduating from Northeastern Oklahoma State University in 1970. She got her first job in education at Wilburton Public Schools in the Fall of 1970 as a Speech Therapist.
She met Clyde Wooldridge, who was the boy's basketball coach there and they began dating. In June of 1971, they were married at Calvary Baptist Church in Wilburton. She continued in that teaching assignment until she resigned in May of 1981. In November of 1980, she opened the “Sword Of Life” Christian Bookstore in her home on east Main Street. She worked part-time until 1983 when the business grew to the point of being a full-time job and they moved the store to the Cardinal Food Plaza. In the Fall of 1991, the family moved to McAlester, and they sold the bookstore. She went back to work for McAlester Public Schools as a Speech Therapist until she and Clyde retired in June of 1997. For a year, they moved to Dallas, TX and managed a retirement home before moving back to McAlester. She spent the next eight years working as a Speech Therapist for Tannehill Public Schools. In 2007, they began “chasing grandkids” in Texas, New Mexico and back in Oklahoma. In 2018, they moved to Baptist Retirement Village in OKC. In October of 2021, after several physical and neurological problems, she moved into Memory Care at Baptist Village until her death on March 22, 2023.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde; son, Jarrard Quinn and his wife Andy, of Tahlequah, OK; three grandchildren, Michal, Lukas, and Gabi, of Tahlequah; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews in the Sallisaw, Webbers Falls, and Wilburton areas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Deloy (1981) and Ova (1990) and her first son, Corky Clyde in (1974). In accordance with her heart, she donated her body to scientific research.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 31, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church in Wilburton, OK.
