Tecumseh resident Randell Hurst, 58, passed away Monday, August 5, 2019. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Randell was born September 9, 1960 in Seminole, Oklahoma to James and LaQuita (Malcom) Hurst. He graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1978. He then attended Seminole State and University of Central Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Randell was a Special Education teacher who touched the lives of students throughout several area schools. He married Pamela Atkins in October of 1996, and together they raised two children. Randell had taught himself how to play both the fiddle and guitar at a young age and was a member of different bands through the years. He regularly enjoyed performing at various events and local venues. Randell lived his life to the fullest through the simplest pleasures tending to his chickens, riding his old tractor, and spending the evenings outside with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his parents: James and LaQuita Hurst of Tecumseh, wife: Pamela Hurst of the home, daughter: Ariana Hurst of the home, son: Preston Hurst of the home, sister: Jamie Hurst Murray and husband Harold of Sapulpa, mother and father-in-law, brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
