Randy Gene Flowers, age 72, of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in his home on April 21, 2025.
Randy was born on October 3, 1952, in Shawnee, Oklahoma. He graduated from Meeker High School in 1970, where he was a talented student, athlete, and musician. During his school years, Randy played six instruments in the band—depending on the year—and was a star player on the baseball, basketball and track teams. He was a state champion in track and earned over 50 medals as an athlete. His early achievements reflected his natural talents, dedication, and creativity.
He continued his education at Oklahoma State University and the University of Central Oklahoma, majoring in accounting. Randy went on to have a successful and varied career, working as an accountant for Lee Way Motor Freight for ten years, followed by three years with the FDIC. He also served as a sales clerk at Markwell Auction & Real Estate for eight years and spent thirteen years with Armitage Equipment, always known for his integrity, work ethic, and kindness.
Randy was a man of faith and served as a deacon at the Aydelotte Church of Christ for more than 25 years. His commitment to his church and love for the Lord were central to his life and could be seen in the way he served and loved others.
A gifted musician, Randy could play six instruments entirely by ear and loved to sing. He often performed with Debbie at weddings, community events, and special occasions, filling every space with music and joy. His creativity extended to directing local pageants, coaching Little League baseball and serving the community as a member of the Meeker Jaycees. Randy also had a passion for travel, cherishing every opportunity to explore new places and create memories with his loved ones.
Above all, Randy was a devoted family man. He is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Flowers; his daughter Andrea Householter and son-in-law Mark Householter, and grandchildren Kinley and Bryleigh; his son Ryan Flowers and daughter-in-law Heather Flowers, and grandchildren Marlee and Maddex; and his son Kyle Flowers and daughter-in-law Lindsey Flowers, and grandchildren Nora and Leo. His brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mark and Lisa Armitage; his nephew Brad Armitage and wife, Lindsey Armitage and great-niece, Willow; and niece Leslie Armitage and great-niece, Lennon.
He is also lovingly remembered by extended family members and friends, all of whom were blessed by his presence in their lives.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Flowers, his mother, Aurora Flowers, his brother, Larry Flowers, his father-in-law, Vernon Markwell, and his mother-in-law, Gail Markwell.
Randy's life was filled with music, laughter, faith, and love. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, service, and devotion to his family and community. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
