Raymond "Ray" Lee Chastain

Prague resident Raymond Lee “Ray” Chastain, 77, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at his home. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 21, 2019 at Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church with brothers Mack Peercy and Charlie Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.

Ray was born December 11, 1941 in McIntosh County to Laverne and Mildred (Braxton) Chastain.  He grew up in Muskogee and graduated from Muskogee High School.  On August 1, 1975 he married Helen (Terrell) Johnson.  Ray worked most of his life as an independent insurance agent.  He was a longtime member of Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  He was an avid fisherman and quail hunter and loved spending time with his family and church family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister:  Caroline Kay, brothers-in-law:  Barrett Terrell and Olan Walden, father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Troy and Jewell Terrell.

He is survived by his wife:  Helen Chastain of the home, three sons: Damon Chastain and wife Vicky of Ozark, MO, Kelly Chastain of Shawnee, OK, Jason Chastain and wife Jocelin of Moore, OK, one daughter: Kimberly Riggs and husband Kevin of Prague, OK, grandchildren:  Kaitlin Allie Duren and husband Paul of Jones, OK, Dustin Chastain and wife Ashley of Shawnee, OK, Seth Chastain and wife Brittany of MO, Logan Chastain of MO, Riley Chastain of Shawnee, OK, Reagen Chastain of Shawnee, OK, Bo Wright Riggs of Prague, OK, Claire Chastain of Shawnee, OK, Andrew Hobbs of Tecumseh, OK, Jorja Rae Chastain of Moore, OK, great-grandchildren:  Channing Abigail, Charlee Kait,  Deuce Duren, Allena, Bentley, and August Chastain, Paizley and Kenzlea Chastain, brother:  Jerry Don Chastain and wife Louise of Muskogee, OK, nephew: Greg Chastain of Austin, TX, niece: Debi Chastain of Muskogee, OK, aunt:  Robbie Taber of Tulsa, OK, in-laws: Betty Jo Terrell of Shawnee, OK, Sherman and Mary Jo Terrell of Prague, OK, Gordon and Ella Terrell of Shawnee, OK, Farrell Walden of Prague, OK, Butch and Linda Terrell of Prague, OK.
