Rex Lee Grider, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the age of 81.Rex, the son of William Clifton and Nora Marie (Payne) Grider was born June 13, 1937 in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma. He graduated from Wetumka High School, and completed his bachelor’s degree in Business from Oklahoma Baptist University. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. Rex married Mikela Adams, August 3, 1960, and was a residential construction contractor. He was a member at University Baptist Church in Shawnee; he enjoyed fishing, particularly crappy and sand bass at Lake Eufaula, and seeing how fast he could solve puzzles, like Rubik’s Cubes, but his greatest joy was spent spending time with his family.Rex was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Stephen White of Muskogee; son, Rex Grider Jr. of Oklahoma City; two grandchildren, Mikela Joy White and Gavin Chase White of Muskogee; two brothers, Wayne and Christine Grider of Shawnee, and Jerry Grider of Shawnee; two sisters, Pat and Luther Welch of Shawnee, and Mona Grider of Shawnee; brother-in-law O.S. and Cathy Adams Jr. of Ft Smith, Arkansas; eleven nieces and nephews, and numerous great nieces and nephews.A graveside memorial service will be Monday, July 2 at 10:00 AM, at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee, with Stephen White officiating. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
