Richard G. Kasterke, 73, of Shawnee, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Shawnee. Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2018 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Todd Fisher officiating. There will be a family visitation at Walker Funeral Service on Sunday, July 8 from 2-4 pm to visit with friends and family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund or Milburn Student Success Center at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee. Richard was born May 29, 1945 in Shawnee, OK to Lester Lee and Syble (Rogers) Kasterke. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from East Central University in Ada. He was married to Mary Margaret Saunders Kasterke for 50 years, she was the love of his life. Richard was a salesman. He began working at Sears in high school and went to be a manager of Sears stores after college. He later owned several business including Kasterke Tire Sales and Fat Richard’s Family Arcade. His last 20+ years in business were spent selling land for Paul Milburn Acreages. Richard and Margaret were members at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee for 40 years where he was a deacon and also served with bus ministry, children’s ministry, evangelism training, Jr. Falls Creek Trips, youth mission trips and on pastoral search committees. Because he loved God’s Word, he became a Gideon.He loved philanthropy that was part of his work at Paul Milburn Acreages. He loved being outdoors. He was an avid sports fan and fine art enthusiast as it pertained to any of his 8 grandchildren. His relationship with his Savior was the most important relationship in his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Margaret Kasterke, his parents Lester & Syble Kasterke, and his sister Ethel Kasterke Black.Survivors include: Son & Daughter-in-Law: Derrick & Tammy Watson Kasterke of Shawnee; Daughter & Son-in-Law: Mike & Allison Kasterke Huebert of Choctaw.He is also survived by his adored grandchildren: Tanner, Josh, and Kali Kasterke, Seth and his wife Ashley Cuchiara Huebert, Will, Paul Richard and Maggie Huebert. He also leaves behind a brother & sister-in-law: Gary & Betty Kasterke, a brother-in-law Ronnie Black, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Cledus.
