Robert Perry

Robert Perry of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away at age 84 on September 23, 2019 in Oklahoma City. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 26 at the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee, under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.Robert was born December 3, 1934 to Floyd and Bertha Perry in Shawnee. He graduated from Shawnee High School, Central Christian College in Bartlesville, and Abilene Christian College with a Bachelor’s degree. He worked 64 years on Main Street Shawnee. He began work as a DECA student in 1951 at Rosenfield’s Jewelry. He worked most of his career as owner and manager of Perry & McGee Furniture Company. Later he worked at Virginia’s Home Furnishings.He married Ann Wills on December 30, 1955. They were married 63 years. After serving two years in the United States Army, he worked for two years at the Perry & McGee store in Ada, Oklahoma before returning to Shawnee in 1961. He was a former member of the Shawnee Kiwanis Club and the Jaycees. Served for many years as a Deacon and Elder at the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee. He preached for many years at the Wanette Church of Christ and for two years at the Tecumseh Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by father Floyd Perry, mother Bertha Perry, sisters Virginia Wright and Rebecca Roach, and infant son Stephen Mark Perry. He is survived by wife Ann Perry, sons Bob Perry of Shawnee, David Perry of Holland, Michigan, and Scott Perry of Choctaw. Daughters-in-law Louise Perry, Sarah Perry, and Tamera Perry. Brother William Royce Perry of Oklahoma City. Grandchildren include Lindsey Borcherding of Shawnee, Jason Perry of Luther, Kyle Perry of Shawnee, Patterson Perry of Holland Michigan, Brie Perry of Choctaw, and Emily Perry of Choctaw. Great grandchildren Jacob Borcherding of Shawnee, Jameson Perry of Luther, Silas Perry of Luther.
