Robert Douglas Williams, age 56, passed away at home on February 16, 2025. He arrived in this world on September 12, 1968 to Robert E. and Barbara J. Williams in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
“Doug” was a man that got to live a life full of rich experiences. He shared many memories as a child of working in the kitchen at Van’s Pig Stand on Highland Street with his father, brother, and sister. After graduating from Shawnee High School, Doug, and his father, Bob, opened B&D Pawn Shop on the 300 block of Main Street in downtown Shawnee. In the 90’s, he proudly served his community as a Reserved Sheriff’s Deputy in Pottawatomie Co. The time he spent serving his community was just more than a duty, but also a deep sense of camaraderie and brotherhood with his colleagues in law enforcement. His never ending loyalty and respect for his peers was a cornerstone of his character. With those cherished, life-long friendships, he resigned from the Sheriffs Department, and went to work at Tinker AFB as a Pipefitter where he retired as Planner for the B-1 Bomber.
A skilled builder and craftsman, Doug, loved projects of all kinds, and was the truest definition a “Jack of All Trades”. He had a natural talent for building and creating. His hands were always moving and his mind was constantly buzzing with new ideas and inspiration. Despite his busy nature, Doug also knew the importance of slowing down and savoring life’s finest moments. One of his greatest joys was spending time at his beloved lake house in Eufaula. Surrounded by nature and the company of those he loved, he found peace and contentment in the quiet beauty of the lake, where many cherished memories were made with family and friends. His favorite escapes included Tybee Island where he enjoyed the ocean and sitting on the beach.
Doug is preceded in death by his grandparents Michael and Blodwyn Orange, and Ralph and Catherine Williams; father, Robert “Bob” Williams; brother, Steven Williams; aunts Karen Weber and Michele Orange; and uncle Terry Orange.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Williams; daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Colton Malone; grandson, Bryton Malone; granddaughter, Breelynn Malone; step-son Benjamin and Amy Lanier and their children Jamie, Natalie, Braydon, Gabby, and Benson; step-son Jimmy and Jessica Lanier and their children Luke and Zeke; mother, Barbara Williams; sister, Elizabeth “Beth” Williams; and cousins, Susan Fields, Scott Weber, Sarah, and Jessie.
