Shawnee resident, Roberta Ray Hooton, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Shawnee.
Services will be at 2:00pm Friday, December 13, 2019 at New Life Baptist Church (8900 S. Peebly Rd, Newalla 74857) with Pastor Rick Ham officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
Roberta was born May 20, 1936 in Roff, Oklahoma to Ted and Anna Mae King. She attended school in Seminole, OK. She served as a pastor’s wife, homemaker, legal secretary, and executive secretary at American National Bank where she retired in 1998. She married Tom Hooton in October, 2000. Mrs. Hooton was an award winning cook, excellent seamstress, floral arranger, and loved being outdoors tending to her yard. She was a member of the Dale Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister: Alberta McGinnis, a sister: Helen Smith, a husband Andy Garner, and a step-grandson: Owen Hooton.
Survivors include Husband: Tom Hooton of the home, three children: Rick Ham and wife Ramona of Norman, Ron Ham and wife Susan of Shawnee, Rita Ham of Shawnee, step-children: Sharla Lee and husband Victor of Dale, Paula Ramsey of Dale, David Hooton and wife Mylea of Austin, TX, grandchildren: Krista Farris and husband Dustin, Monica Williams, Christopher Ham and wife Katy, Kayla Ham, step-grandchildren: Mandi Haggard and husband Nick, Brad Ramsey, Sarah Grounds and husband Jason, Stacy Grayson and husband Shawn Andy Brown and wife Heather, Stephanie Brown, sister: Linda Laxton of Seminole, brother: Bob King of Shawnee, thirteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
