Roy Don Givens

Former McLoud resident Roy Don Givens, 79, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Visitation will be Sunday from 3pm to 5pm at Walker Funeral and Cremation Service. Services will be 10:00am Monday, June 27, 2022 at Newalla First Baptist Church with Mark Patterson officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Roy was born October 26, 1942 in Purcell, Oklahoma to Roy Givens and Mary Mavis (Sarrett) Givens. He graduated from Southeast High School. He married Jackie (Griffin) on May 11, 1962 in Oklahoma City. He joined the United States Army in 1966 and served until 1969. Roy worked at Tinker Air Force Base as a small engine mechanic for 33 years before retiring. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, woodworking, but most of all loved spending time with his grandkids. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Jackie, a daughter: Kyla Dawn Givens, a sister: Penny Bruehl, and a brother: Jerry Givens. Survivors include his son: Jason Givens and wife Leslie of McLoud, 2 grandchildren: Brandon and Kelson Givens, 1 sister: Dana Spencer and husband Jim of Yukon, and several other family members and friends.
