Ruby F. Rice

Shawnee resident Ruby F. Rice, 101, died Thursday, April 20, 2017 in Shawnee. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, April 24, 2017 at Fairview Cemetery. Ruby Rice was born October 27, 1915 in Decatur, Texas to John F. Ross and Oma Marie (Edge) Ross.  She married John C. Rice on June 25, 1931.  Ruby worked at the Sylvania Plant and also at O.B.U. for many years, retiring in 1986.  One of her favorite enjoyments was sewing.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 children: Janice Rice and Johnny Rice, a grandchild, Billy Don Tate, 1 brother, 1 sister, and 3 half-sisters. Survivors include 2 Daughters: Martha Hollis and husband Ray of Shawnee, and Anita Epple of Shawnee; 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren, and 12 Great-Great-Grandchildren; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
