Samuel Clayton Young

Samuel Clayton Young, 13, passed away Sunday, March 21 at his home in Shawnee, OK.

Samuel was born to Trevor and Andy (Hinton) Young on September 18, 2007 in Shawnee. He was a 7th grade student at Shawnee Middle School.

Samuel grew from a tiny precious baby to our gentle giant with a big, deep voice. He was everything his parents' ever dreamed a son could be. He was beyond sweet, kind, respectful and peaceful. He was an absolute delight. He adored his father and was his mother's dream come true. He loved his sister, Keegan with all his heart and she loves him so. His future bother-in-law Jacob was already his brother to him and they had great times together. He delighted in ALL his cousins. They and Keegan were his best friends. Together they had a childhood so amazing that there aren't enough beautiful words to describe it. He was adventurous and relished every opportunity to just "go". He had big dreams of being a marine someday. He loved camping, shooting, fishing and traveling. He spent many vacations in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, Wyoming and Alaska with his family. Sam played football last fall and loved being part of the team. He loved Wednesday nights at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and skating at Star Skate. He made friends with ease. If Sam ever met you, you were his friend. He was such a unique and precious soul.

Our hearts are so broken. We will miss our Sammybear until we are reunited in Heaven thanks to our Savior Jesus. What a day that will be! Good nogga Seesaw. We love you! 

He was preceded in death by his grandma, Deanice Hinton, his great grandma, Margaret Herron and his grandpas, Roger Young and Tim Hinton.

Samuel is survived by his parents, Trevor and Andy Young; sister, Keegan Young and her fiancé Jacob Chesser; grandmas, Diann (Monnie) Young and Pam (Nana) Hinton; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and too many friends to count.

A memorial service will be Saturday, March 27 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, with Samuel's uncle Mike, Michael Herron, officiating. Walker Funeral Service is handling the arrangement.
