Sophie "Ann" Jones, age 84, of Rogers, Arkansas formerly of Pink, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, September 30, 2024 in Rogers,.
Ann was born December 10, 1939 in Thomas, Oklahoma, a daughter of Joseph and Sarah (Hernandez) Hall. Thomas was her home for her childhood and where she graduated high school. After high school, she married Charles W. Reser, Sr, the father of her children. Later, Ann married the love of her life, Ray Harvey Jones on October 10, 1981. They were married for 41 years before his passing in 2023. As an employee of the U.S. Government, Ann worked at Tinker Air Force base for many years on airplane engines. She was not only an assembler, but also a mechanic before retiring as an inspector. When she wasn't working, Ann enjoyed crocheting for others. Through the years, Ann made numerous, detailed, beautiful afghan blankets for others. As well, she adored traveling across our country with Ray. While she found fulfillment in her job and travels with Ray, Ann's love of her faith and church family was an important part of her life. In addition to her passion for reading the Bible, Ann attended the Church of Christ in Dale and Tecumseh, as well as other Church of Christ congregations across the country while traveling. She was quite involved in the youth groups at church and beloved by the campers as a cook for the church youth camp.
Survivors include her sons: William Reser and wife Kim of Oklahoma City, Daniel Reser and wife Barbara of Bentonville, AR, David Reser and wife Brenda of Oklahoma City, and Ben Reser and wife Nina of Lexington, OK; brother Joseph Buschman of Oklahoma City, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren as well as numerous other extended family. Ann is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ray, and sister Freda Hagerman.
Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at a funeral ceremony to celebrate her life at10 AM on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, at Dale Church of Christ. Following the ceremony, Ann will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.
