Stella Marie Ayers

Stella Marie Ayers, 87, died surrounded by family members on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 in Bethel Acres.Stella, the daughter of Morgan Enoch and Lectie Jane (White) Hancock, was born on February 4, 1931, in Harrison Arkansas. On May 29, 1947, she married Oid J. Bryce, he preceded her in death on March 16, 1961. Stella then married Delbert Lee Ayers, on December 2, 1970. Stella was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Over the years she worked for Eaton Corporation and Western Electric, ultimately retiring from Tinker, where she worked in shipping and receiving. Stella enjoyed fishing, especially with her grandchildren, and cooking and gardening.Stella was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; one son, Richard Lee Bryce; two brothers, Luther Hancock and Everette Hancock; and two sisters, Rosie Edwards Pierce and Lucille Singleton.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Toni Bryce of Bethel Acres; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Dwayne Elmore of Bethel Acres; five grandchildren: James & Vonda Bryce, Phillip Bryce, Cheryl & Pat King, Mike & Kim Elmore, and David & Christa Elmore; 13 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law Charlene and Johnny Rayburn and Dollie Shepard; and many other family and friends.Services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Walker Funeral Chapel in Shawnee, with Rev Larry Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Shawnee.
