Susan was born May 16, 1947, to Thomas Walter and Helen Marie Lipinski, who preceded her in death, along with her brother Thomas Walter Jr. After graduating from Draughan’s Business College, Susan proceeded to work for the government for over 50 years in several different areas including 22 years as an Administrative Assistant with the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, The Census Bureau, Pottawatomie County Election Board, and Inspector with the State Election Board. Susan came out of retirement in 1997 to work part-time at St. Gregory’s University until 2006. She was a lifelong practicing Catholic, having attended St. Benedict’s School in Shawnee, she was a member of the Alter Society, Golden Hearts, Birthday Girls, Project Gabriel, and several other Church Ministries at St. Benedict’s. She was also a member of The Oblate at St. Gregory’s University. When health issues forced her to move to Temple, TX, St. Mary’s became her final Church Family. Susan is survived by two nieces she helped raise, Angela Lawson, of Harrah, Oklahoma, and Leslie Sullivan of Lebanon, Tennessee, several great nieces and nephews, a host of cousins, friends and extended family. She was an inspiration, exhorting others, and keeping her faith throughout her life and illness. Vigil will be 7:00 p.m. Friday August 11th at Walker Funeral Service Chapel, 201 East 45th Street, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12 at St. Gregory’s Abbey Church, 1900 W MacArthur St, Shawnee, OK.
