Teddy “Ted” Vern Robertson, 94, passed on December 31, 2022 He resided in Shawnee, OK for 71 years. Ted was born July 28, 1928 in Tulsa, Ok, and graduated from Jay High School. He then joined the U.S. Army and served in Japan before his honorable discharge. He returned to Oklahoma and met his future wife, Wynnell, and they were married May 29, 2948. They had been married 73 years until her death on January 1, 2022. They relocated to Stillwater, OK where Ted attended Oklahoma A&M. He obtained his degree in accounting and they moved to Shawnee where he started his accounting practice. He was one of the original 10 founders of Sonic Industries and later developed Sonic Computer Services which offered a variety of accounting services to Sonic Franchisees. Ted served his community through his involvement in Jaycee’s and Kiwanis for many years. Ted’s hobbies were golfing and fishing. He enjoyed his many fishing trips to Canada, Alaska, and Mexico. He developed a passion for thoroughbred horses. For more than twenty years he bred and raced his horses at racetracks across the country. Christmas was always an important day for family gatherings at Ted & Wynnell’s. The family has many happy memories of the gatherings at their home. Ted was a generous man and because of his success in business he proudly assisted grandchildren and great grandchildren with their education and other needs. Ted and Wynnell are survived by a son, Jim Robertson and wife Betty, daughter Marian Ward and husband Louis. They were blessed with 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He is survived by a brother Jerry Roberson of Sapulpa and a sister, Joyce Perkins of Ponca City. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Baptist Church.
