Terry Edward Richards

Terry Richards, of Shawnee, OK, passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the age of 79. Terry Edward Richards was born February 17, 1943 to Ed and Julia Richards. He grew up in Bethel Acres and graduated from Bethel High School in 1960. Terry fell in love with his high school sweetheart, Helen Marie Harmon, and married her on May 20,1960. Terry was owner and operator of Terry’s Plumbing for over 50 years working in new construction throughout the Shawnee and Norman areas. He was also a long-time member of the Elks Lodge Golf Course where he enjoyed playing many rounds of golf. In addition to working and playing golf, you could also find Terry at many baseball fields as he coached all three of his sons and one of his grandson’s little league baseball teams. He spent many years going to Lake Eufaula and was known for pulling skiers for endless hours. Terry was a very proud grandpa and loved the honor of being called Papa Terry. Terry is preceded in death by his parents Ed and Julia Richards and his wife of 52 years, Helen Richards. Survivors include his three sons: Marty Richards and daughter-in-law Cori of Shawnee, OK, Robby Richards of Shawnee, OK and Josh Richards and daughter-in-law Jenny of Edmond,OK, seven grandchildren: Ryan, Travis, Brooks, Martie Marie, Shelbie, Grant and Cruz Richards, one great-granddaughter: Riley Richards, four siblings: Jerry Richards, Phyllis Stewart, Kathy Wagstaff and Jamie Richards, and many more extended family and friends. Graveside service will be held at 2pm on Friday, March 18th at the Dale Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.
