Thalia Jane Odell

Thalia Jane Odell, our wife, mama, nana, and best friend, passed just beyond our earthly view into the presence of His glorious light and love on Friday, September 9, 2022.

She was born on June 18, 1956, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma to Ovney and Herman Mink. She grew up in Stratford, Oklahoma where she made many lifelong friends and graduated Valedictorian of her class.

On September 4, 1976, she married her best friend, Ronny Odell. They lived in Asher, Oklahoma until 1999 and most recently resided in Shawnee, Oklahoma. She was a proud mother and nana to her three children: Amber, Andrew, and Kelsi and her seven grandchildren: Finley, Axyl, Elliott, Adeline, Lincoln, Camarie and Cooper.

She was an owner of Shawnee Lighting Systems where she played a crucial role in helping her husband, brother-in-law and sister-in-law build a thriving family business. She exemplified a servant's heart. She taught us that strength can come from pain and exuded a quiet beauty. Her love for Jesus was her constant source of strength.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ovney "Milsap" Mink, father Herman Mink, sister Rebecca, and brothers Conrad and Murvel.

She is survived by her husband Ronny Odell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, daughter Amber and Chevy Thomason of Edmond, Oklahoma, son Andrew and Paige Odell of Edmond, Oklahoma, and daughter Kelsi and Matthew Haralson of Collierville, Tennessee. Her legacy also includes her seven grandchildren.

Her family waits in expectant anticipation of the day we see her again.

A funeral ceremony for Thalia will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the First Baptist Church in Asher. Following the ceremony, she will be laid to rest at Vista Cemetery. Casket bearers will be: Larry Rycroft, Matthew Haralson, Chevy Thomason, Jeff Odell, Andrew Odell, and Josh Odell. For those unable to attend, her ceremony will be live streamed on the Walker Funeral & Cremation Serivce Facebook page.
