Thelma Viola Watson

Shawnee resident Thelma Viola Watson, 77, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at her home. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. Charlie Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Thelma was born February 16, 1942 in Lancing, Tennessee to Cecil Hawn and Lennis (Potter) Hawn. She graduated from high school in Wartburg, Tennessee. On December 8, 1961 she married Thomas Lee Watson. She spent most of her life being a housewife and homemaker. Thelma was a member of Garden Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she was very active in Sunday school and bible study. She enjoyed reading and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 sisters: Rose and Katherine, and 1 brother: Cletus. Survivors include 3 Children: Annette Wiles and husband John of Shawnee,Anita Page of OKC,Mike Watson and wife Kathy of Shawnee,9 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren,2 Sisters and 6 Brothers,And several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
