Thomas Shaun Bettis passed away unexpectedly in St. Louis, Missouri on January 10, 2025, at the age of 48.
Shaun is survived by his son, Anthony Palacio of Shawnee, Oklahoma, daughter-in-law, Brandi Palacio, grandson, Sammy Palacio, sister, Sara Wilson of Denver, Colorado, nephew, Aiden of Denver, Colorado, nieces, Lily and Ella of Denver, Colorado, aunt, Robin Garrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, uncle, Robert Miles Chisholm of Shawnee, Oklahoma, cousins: Alissa Garrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Dylan Kaulaity of Shawnee, Oklahoma, Nicole Kaulaity of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Denessa Kaulaity of El Reno, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Denise Bettis of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Thomas Lane Bettis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, grandparents, Bob Chisholm, of Anadarko, Oklahoma and Marion Miles, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, cousin, Justin Garrison of Shawnee, Oklahoma, great aunt, Roberta Miles of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and aunt, Melissa Williams of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Shaun was born on March 31, 1976, in Lawton, Oklahoma to Thomas (Tommy) and Marion Denise Bettis. He attended Shawnee High School and North Rock Creek School. He also attended Gordon Cooper Vo-Tech certifying in automotive repair, along with some college classes. His extracurricular activities included watching Ancient Aliens with his cousin Alissa on a Friday night and taking taekwondo classes with his dad.
Shaun was a self-taught musician; he learned to read sheet music and play guitar and was truly passionate about music. He wrestled a little in elementary school and his favorite color was green. He had a soft heart for animals, especially cats. Shaun also excelled in math, taking both trigonometry and calculus in high school. Additionally, he had a natural talent for drawing and a creative artistic flair.
The funeral is scheduled for Thursday, January 23, 2025, 2:00pm at the Walker Funeral Chapel, reception to follow will be announced later. Viewing hours will be Wednesday, January 22 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Pazlo Gonzales will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Shaun’s life.
