Tilda Ann Wakolee

Shawnee resident Tilda Ann Wakolee, passed away on Thursday, May 09, 2019 at a local hospital at the age of 81. Tilda, the daughter of Robert Chopper and Annie (Garner) Mills, was born on March 29, 1938, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Tilda graduated high school in Quinton, Oklahoma. Tilda married George Allen on June 7, 1954. Together they had three children prior to his untimely death in 1960. On April 3, 1965 she married Delbert Wakolee, Tilda and Delbert had her fourth child. Tilda retired from A.B.M, a janitorial service contracted to T.D.K. Tilda love her grandchildren and having them at her house; reading was always a favorite pastime for her and when she had her grandchildren she would always tell them to take a book to bed with them. She enjoyed doing genealogy work, cooking and trying out new recipes, playing monopoly, watching old western movies, gardening, sewing and quilting. She also was a fan of the tv show Unsolved Mysteries, loved going to yard sales, storm chasing and doing water aerobics. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and step brothers Leon Mills and Herb Mills. Tilda is survived by her children, Roger Allen, Rufus Allen and Mercilita McGee, Jody Allen, and Robert and Debbie Wakolee; 20 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, May 13, at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Afterwards, anyone that wants to join the family at the Sac & Fox Multi-Purpose Building for a covered dish dinner is welcome.
