Shawnee resident Tommy Parrish, 75, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2019 at his home. Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm Monday, July 15 at Walker Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. TP was born July 30, 1943 in Shawnee, OK the son of John Orville Parrish and Viola Pearl (Coley) Parrish. He graduated from Shawnee High School. Tommy served in the United States Army in Vietnam where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne as an Armor Recon Spec. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with Device 60, Combat Infantryman Badge, Army Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal. He married Michaela (Lyle) in 1973. He retired from the Shawnee Fire Department after many years of services. Tommy was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother: Jimmy Wayne Parrish. Survivors include his Wife: Michaela Parrish of the home,3 Children: Tommy Dean Parrish II of Shawnee,Amber Renee Howard and husband Matthew of Shawnee,Patrick Shane Parrish and wife Heather of Enid,3 Grandchildren: Laney Jade Williams,Colin Stewart Howard,Georgia Kate Parrish,1 Brother: John K. Parrish of Shawnee,And several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
