Valencia (Vicki) L. Halko Patterson, everybody’s Meme, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Friday, Oct. 26, 2018 at the age of 91. She was born Feb. 21, 1927 in Electra, Texas and raised in Petrola, Texas by her grandmother, Jenny Howell. She moved to Shawnee, OK at the age of 12 when her mother, Zelma Howell married John Halko. She graduated Shawnee High School class of ’44 and attended OBU and OU before marrying Claude E. Patterson on Mar. 11, 1950. In 39 years of marriage, Vicki and Claude enjoyed their life together running various businesses including auto dealerships, banking and farming/ranching and raising their children, Claudia, John and Pam on Halko Farms in Shawnee. Her life passions were painting, houseboating with her lake family at Lake Eufaula and helping raise her eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. Vicki leaves her legacy on this earth as a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, homemaker, life of the party and “one spunky lady.” She will forever be remembered as full of life, quick-witted, always herself, never afraid to speak her mind and will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband Claude. She is survived by her children Claudia Patterson, John Patterson, Pam Fincher and husband Bob; her grandchildren Peter Patterson, wife Crystal, children Thomas, Kristopher, Laura, PJ and Andrew; Cortney Fly; Tandi Mize, husband Roger, children Checotah, Aly, Amelia; Devon Williams, husband Travis, children Colt and Kase; Paige Waszkewitz, husband Eric, children Edith and Isla; Rachel Davis, partner Trent Churchwell, children Julian and Zoey; Patrick Williamson, partner Andrea Maston; and Learin Patterson. The family could not be more grateful for Vicki’s loving caretakers who are now considered extended family, Fallon Wilkerson and Nancy Holsapple. The family would also like to thank the caring staff at Angelic Family Hospice for their compassion and for making Vicki’s final days comfortable.Arrangements are being coordinated by Walker Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery, Tuesday Oct 30, 2018 at 2pm, officiated by Jimmy Gibson.
