Vivian Dolores Dockrey

We are saddened to announce that on October 4th, Vivian Dockrey of Shawnee Ok took her final breath, surrounded by loved ones. The world welcomed Vivian on February 24th, 1935. Vivian lived a long and full life, filled with joy and love. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed. Vivian is survived by her son Jeffrey Reeves and daughter Elise Reeves, Grandchildren Lora, Jeff, Lyndsey, Cullen, and Noelani, and many great grandchildren. Vivian was a Shawnee graduate and attended UCO. She loved her job as a school teacher for 26 years at Shawnee, Muskogee, and Bethel. She was also on the School Board for North Rock Creek for several years. She had a love for the theatre and music and appeared in several plays at Shawnee Little Theatre but motherhood was her greatest achievement. She sadly said goodbye to 3 of her children, Rusty, Lance, and Kilte over the years. Her grandchildren had a special place in her heart and often had them spend the summers on the farm with her where she would make her famous biscuits and chocolate gravy for breakfast, go on adventures, and read and sing lullabies every night to them. A small come and go service will be held on October 9th from 4:30 - 6:30 at Walker's Funeral Service (201 E 45th, Shawnee). Placement in Fairview Mausoleum will take place at a later date.
