Shawnee, and former Richardson, TX, resident Wanda Crow, 88, went to be with The Lord after a brief illness Monday, November 1, 2021, at her residence. Wanda was born on March 8, 1933, in Okay, Arkansas to George Lawrence Thompson and Fanta Mae Reed Thompson. After graduating from Saratoga High School, 1951, she went on to study Elementary Education and received her bachelor’s at Henderson State Teachers College, 1955. She later completed her Master of Education at East Texas State University. While in college at Henderson, Wanda met Patrick Otis Crow. Wanda and Pat went on to have 2 children, LeAnna Crow Davenport and Owen Patrick Crow. Wanda loved teaching and taught public school in 4th, 5th and 6th grades over 41 years in Arkansas, Tennessee and Texas. She was highly requested by parents, to teach their children and was always willing to give children the benefit of the doubt even if the child came to her class with a prior reputation. She was well loved and loved her the children she taught. Wanda loved to read, play games and socialize up until the week before she got sick. She was very competitive and meant business when playing. In Richardson, TX at her former church The Heights she was a long-time member of the choir, her Sunday School the Bryson Class, and a church greeter. In Shawnee she loved her church Immanuel Baptist and her Sunday School Class. Wanda is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Edith Cranford, Charles Thompson, George Thompson, Byron Thompson, Marshall Thompson, and Nina Seay. Wanda loved her family so much and was very proud of each of them. She is survived by 2 Children: LeAnna Crow Davenport and husband Robert of Shawnee, OK; Owen Patrick Crow and wife Juli of Houston, Texas, 4 Grandchildren: Morgan Davenport of Santa Monica, CA, Reid Davenport of Shawnee, OK, Rebecca Crow of College Station, TX, Lauren Crow of Houston, TX, And several nieces and nephews of family members and many wonderful friends. Wanda told her kids they were her greatest accomplishment in life and how proud she was of them and her grandkids. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Thursday. Funeral Services will be 9:00 A.M., Friday, November 5, 2021, at Walker Funeral Service with Dr. Todd Fisher officiating. Burial will be a 4:00 P.M. Friday, November 5, 2021, at Saratoga Cemetery in Saratoga, Arkansas.
