William Charles Eck

William Charles Eck, long-time resident of Meeker, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. He was 91 years old. Bill was born on November 11, 1932 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to his parents, Manno and Jessie Eck. Bill faithfully served his country as an Airplane Mechanic in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Bill was one of the last ones evacuated from the base in Saigon, Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service. Bill loved to work whether that was around the house or outdoors. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Manno and Jessie Eck, his brothers, Cecil Eck and Manno A. Eck, Jr., three nieces, Denise McClellan, Diana Roselle, and Pamela Chilsen, 

Survivors include his sisters, Kathryn Emerick of Edmond, Oklahoma, Susan Schaffer of Lindon, Pennsylvania, Ruth Wallet of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, Marion Mundrick of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, Melissa McKeag of Jersey Shore, Pennsylvania, nieces and nephews: Marie McGruder, Matthew Emerick, Billy Schaffer, David Schaffer, Eddy Schaffer, Michael Schaffer, Vernon Wallet, Richard Wallet, Ruthie Wallet, Amy Mundrick, Jessie May Schwing, Emily Schwing, and Rachel Schwing. 

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Walker Funeral & Cremation Service on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. A graveside ceremony for Bill will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Fort Sill National Cemetery. Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Air Force.
